Prof. Gilad Hirschberger is an experimental social psychologist who studies how existential concerns influence our relations with the social world.

His research focuses on issues ranging from close relationships to political psychology using a wide variety of methods to examine these questions, such as behavioral and physiological measurements.

In recent years his research has focused on the conflict between Israel and its neighbors, looking at explicit and implicit factors that contribute to political violence.

Prof. Hirschberger's research has been funded by an Alon Fellowship and by grants from the Israel Foundation Trustees, the Israel Science Foundation, and the Binational Science Foundation.
