The Lauder School of Government, Diplomacy and Strategy at the IDC- Herzliya is proud to offer the Program of Political Psychology.  Political Psychology is a fast growing field in the social sciences and IDC seeks to be at the forefront of this exciting field.  Our program is part of IDC’s continued effort to provide interdisciplinary courses, research and academic excellence for students and faculties worldwide.


The primary topics for research include political psychology of conflicts, decision making, prejudice and intolerance reduction, psychological barriers to peace, and the interactive relationship between politics and psychology.  To effectively address these research areas, the Program incorporates teachings and experts from all fields relevant to political psychology including political science, economics, sociology, history.


As the first political psychology program in Israel, the Lauder School has established a platform for cooperation among Israeli scholars in the field.  We concentrate on the Israeli political system and its policy processes, specifically analysis and publications that utilize these psychological theories. 


The Program in Political Psychology hosts workshops dealing with key aspects of the political psychology field, offers coursework at both the BA and MA level, and publishes a newsletter updating scholars and students with our activities.  In addition to sponsoring the journal Political Psychology, the Program issues policy papers to influence policy from a comprehensive
