With our LL.M. program we are striving to offer our students the opportunity to study in the highest-quality business law environment in Israel. The LL.M. program is designed for students with an LL.B. degree (or an American J.D. degree) who would like to attain an advantage in the competitive legal world by specializing in the area of corporate and commercial law, broadly defined. Though the Radzyner School of Law does not have a large faculty, it has more faculty members who specialize in business law than any other institution of higher education in Israel. The program is designed to exploit this relative advantage in a way that other Israeli institutions of high learning do not have the resources to mimic.
The program benefits from the tradition of cooperation between the various schools at IDC Herzliya, and specifically between the Radzyner School of Law and the Arison School of Business. This cooperation, which is unparalleled at any other Israeli institution of higher education, allows the program to include high-quality courses on topics such as finance, accounting and theoretical economics. The interdisciplinary combination provides students with greater intellectual abilities than a regular program leading to the LL.M. degree which is based on purely doctrinal law; at the same time, it allows students to gain a comprehensive understanding and apply interdisciplinary skills, both in theory and practice.
The pedagogical philosophy underlying the program is that there are business lawyers that are good at practicing law and business lawyers that are good at the theoretical level, but only lawyers with a comprehensive understanding of both the theory of law and of its practical applications can be truly distinguished business lawyers. We are striving toward this excellence by combining theoretical courses (such as Law and Game Theory or the Economic Approach to Law) with numerous practical courses that are interwoven into the LL.M. program.
Graduates of the program will be granted a master's degree designating their specialization in the area of business law.
*The Council of Higher Education has recognized the Interdisciplinary Center as an institution of higher education and certified it to grant LL.M. degrees.
