Friends of IDC
The Interdisciplinary Center enjoys the support of many friends and supporters, in Israel and abroad, who play a vital role in realizing the dream of building Israel's first private university, based on the same model of an elite, non-profit academy as the leading American universities.
Donations are the lifeblood of an academic institute; they sustain its development and growth. The contributions of our friends are our only means of opening new schools, constructing classrooms that are conducive to the pursuit of knowledge and dormitories to house students, launching research and educational projects, and providing scholarships, among other activities.
The Interdisciplinary Center Herzliya does not receive any financial support from the state or from public funds. Tuition fees cover IDC's operating budget, however, its rapid development renders considerable donations vital.
A large group of friends and supporters have rallied around the IDC, demonstrating their belief in the vision of establishing a different type of academy in Israel, the academy of the 21st Century. Many Israeli business people have taken an interest in this extraordinary academic model and have come to our aid.
We are proud that our most faithful friends include: the family of the late Ted Arison z"l; Ronald Lauder; the Recanati family (brothers Oudi and Michael and their mother Dina); Harry Radzyner of Düsseldorf; Miriam and Bernard Yenken of Ohio; Efi Arazi; the Dr. Bernard Heller Foundation; the Caesarea Foundation and many others. They wholeheartedly believe that the State of Israel should have an international, bilingual university, which combines programs in Hebrew and English and thus prepares students for the global information age.
