Prof. Zvi Eckstein, Deputy Governor of the Bank of Israel, will join IDC Herzliya and will be appointed the first dean of the School of Economics at IDC as of January 2012.
Professor Eckstein holds a BA in Economics from Tel Aviv University and a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Minnesota, and is currently serving as Deputy Governor Bank of Israel and as a professor for economics at Tel Aviv University. Professor Eckstein is a Fellow at Econometric Society and serves as editor of the European Economic Review. He previously served as a lecturer in leading U.S. universities, including Yale, Carnegie - Mellon and Boston University. Prof. Eckstein has won many prestigious academic and professional awards, and was a member of several professional committees on behalf of various government agencies.
