About Us

The IDC Herzliya Entrepreneurship Club (IEC) was established in 2001 by four students: Eyal Gura, Asaf Wand, Guy Weltsch and Yair Greenbaum. The IEC aims to realize IDC Herzliya students’ entrepreneurial abilities by forging connections among students and between students and businesspeople and academics. This is done through meetings with leading businesspeople from the Israeli economy and forums that are open to all IDC Herzliya students. The meetings are held approximately every other week. In this way, students are able to network with both businesspeople and the students sitting alongside them and raising ideas. During the spring semester of the 2007-8 academic year, the IEC hosted Sheldon Adelson, Yair Goldfinger, Yaron Galai, Gadni Dankenr, Idan Ofer,  Nir Baronshtein, Galia Albin, Gabi Rozenberg and Ben Harel, Stef Wertheimer, Yosi Vardi and more.

The IEC intends to expand its activities in the coming year of 2010. It intends to hold additional lectures, workshops, fieldtrips to companies and cocktail parties, as well as to develop its website, as part of its effort to encourage business networking. In addition, the IEC is working to build ties with students around the world through the entrepreneurship clubs at universities such as Columbia University and Babson College. Students and alumni from all of IDC Herzliya’s schools and programs participate in IEC events. The IEC has over 700 members,  IDC Herzliya students and alumni.
