The company was founded in 2009 by Ron Gura (Zell 9 – 2010), Matan Bar, Erez Dickman and Maya Gura. The Gifts Project was a social commerce platform that enabled users to give and receive group gifts on social networks and ecommerce websites. The company was acquired by eBay in September 2011 (marking the fourth exit for a Zell venture in 2011 alone), and has since transitioned into eBay's Social Center in Tel Aviv.
