The Argov Fellows Program in Leadership & Diplomacy is only open to students currently studying at the Interdisciplinary Center (IDC) Herzliya. The Program is only open to students entering their final year, and in one of the Lauder School of Government programs.

Students from the following academic Programs can apply for the Argov Program:

- Lauder School of Government, Diplomacy and Strategy (Hebrew)

- Raphael Recanati International School (RRIS) Government Track

- Law and Government

- Business and Government

The program seeks students who demonstrate a commitment to excellence and to working on the many challenges facing Israel and the Jewish people.

Passion for Learning:

Argov Fellows must possess the intellectual capacity and commitment necessary for the demanding curriculum and challenging set of problems presented during the Fellowship year. Thus, potential applicants are expected to have demonstrated both academic success in their studies at IDC Herzliya and the ability to synthesize and utilize the knowledge they have accumulated. However, grades are not the only factor in determining an applicant’s suitability for the Argov Program. Evidence of an applicant’s curiosity towards learning and openness to develop personally and professionally is also taken into consideration. It is important that Argov Fellows contribute to ongoing dialogue with fellow students, professors and the numerous guest lecturers whom they meet throughout the year. Thus, a passion for learning is an essential characteristic of all accepted Argov Fellows.

Demonstrated Commitment to Israel and it’s Future:

Israel is under attack and numerous international actors question Israel’s very right to exist. Thus, it is not enough that Argov Fellows proclaim their solidarity to Israel. We expect applicants to already have demonstrated their commitment to Israel and its future. Past Argov Fellows have served as IDF officers, made Aliyah, worked in the public sector and contributed to the wellbeing of their community through volunteer work amongst other activities. Whether the Fellows decide to embark on careers in the private, public or non-profit sectors, we hope that they will strive to work on the challenges facing Israel and the Jewish people.

Personal Qualities:

To understand how you will contribute to and benefit from the Argov Program, your application essays should convey your passions, hopes and aspirations, reflecting who you are, what you believe in, and what you hope to do. The application process also includes several stages of individual and group interviews as well as the checking of personal references. Each Argov Fellow is a unique individual who helps to contribute to the program as a Fellow and as an alumnus for years to come. Thus, it is important that Argov Fellows have strong interpersonal and intercultural communication skills. If you believe that your experiences and future goals are suited to the Argov Program, we encourage you to apply.
